Jack had no electricity, plumbing or heat. (He's in town now) Most of what Jack salvaged from the trash, auctions or dumpsters in the way of antiques.. slowly rots away in his 20 acres of junk and buildings. He used to collect antique battery radios from the 1920's until a massive tree fell on his collection. One day he asked me to try to restore his collection of old hobo and bum 78 rpm records from the depression era to learn songs from for his appearances at hobo festivals. So, the tracks in this album were not meant to be a serious archive of vintage music, but accidentally, this may be the single best roundup of strange old bum songs. A true collector and expert in St. Louis, Joel Slotnikoff, loved the collection on CD. It's fun. 28 tracks (be sure to watch the "sampler" video with 10 second clips of each song and photos of Jack over 30 years - from the next image arrow.
